World of Warcraft is a game that has been with me my entire life. I have never really stopped playing, and I probably will not as long as this game exists. Unfortunately, the older you get, the less time you have for it. And no matter how much you want to play, and no matter how often you tell yourself:
Today after work I will log back in, even if it is only for ten minutes!
In the end, you do not actually do it, or maybe just once, because you quickly realize that you cannot just play for ten minutes.

But for me, it is also just great to have the login screen open just to have the music playing in the background while doing something else (in my case, playing chess).
You see, I would love to play WoW again, but I know for a fact that it just would not be… right. I would have to, or would want to, invest a lot of time again.
Time that I do not have. Or rather spend elswhere. And all of that for a game that I have loved since its release, but that also does not benefit me in real life.
Chess, on the other hand – at least that is what I tell myself – would actually give me something for real life.

STILL, I LOVE WOW. And I have often wondered if it might be an option to create a Hardcore account to slowly play WoW every now and then. To read every quest and actually understand all the lore. But nothing has come of that yet (and probably will not because of the reasons mentioned above).

However, what I can do – especially since I want to write about books here anyway – is get the books and read them. Reading is always possible.
On the phone.
For five minutes in between things.
And while that does not make my desire to play WoW any less, I am somehow happy to be in that world without wasting time in front of the computer. (You know what I mean).

A massive World (of Warcraft)

But now I faced a problem: World of Warcraft has a massive history. Countless books, mangas, videos, and stories, making it nearly impossible to establish a chronology. When you type „World of Warcraft books chronological order“ into a search engine, you get different results for every search.

I am going to create a list for myself here that seems the most likely to fit based on everything I have read. Then I will start reading and write about the books here. That way, I solve many problems at once:

I have something to write about, I satisfy my need to be in the World of Warcraft in a way, and I read more.

So here is the list, which does not claim to be perfect and can be edited by me at any time. Of course, there are also direct links included so you can buy the books or audiobooks, and by doing so, you also support this site.

I will provide you with Amazon links and other resources gradually, whenever I have finished reading or listening to the books. I do not want to link anything here that I have not personally read beforehand. Therefore, the links will always reflect my current progress, and I hope to provide the summaries as well so you can read through them and decide for yourself if they are worth your time.
